On February 19, most of the Juniors and Seniors at Mott-Regent High School took a trip to the Legislature. The students had a tour of the Capital Building. The next stop was sitting in on some Committee Hearings. Lunch was on the 18th floor with our local Representatives and our Senator. Thank you to Don Schaible for lunch! After lunch, the students sat in the balconies of both the House and Senate and learned about different bills that were being discussed. Six students were selected to sit on the floor of the House and heard a bill about raising the gas tax. After their time at the Capital, the students visited the Heritage Center. It was a very fun and educational day.
